How to Create a Seller Account on Walmart

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Walmart’s online marketplace allows third-party sellers to list and sell their products. Here’s a general guide on how to create a seller account on Walmart’s marketplace:

Visit Walmart Marketplace:

Go to the Walmart Marketplace website: https://marketplace.walmart.com/. Click on the “Apply Now” or “Get Started” button to begin the application process.

Select Your Business Model: Walmart offers different business models for sellers. Choose the model that best fits your business:

  • a. Partner Portal: Suitable for sellers with their own technology platform.

  • b. Integrators: Suitable for sellers who use third-party integrators to manage their listings.

  • c. API Solution Providers: Suitable for sellers who offer solutions through Walmart APIs.

Provide Business Information: You’ll need to provide detailed information about your business, including your business name, contact information, tax identification number, and bank account details.

Complete the Application: Fill out the application form with accurate information about your business, products, and inventory management processes.

Review and Approval: Once you submit your application, Walmart will review it to ensure that your business meets their requirements. This review process can take some time.

Onboarding Process: If your application is approved, you will receive instructions for the onboarding process. This may involve setting up your seller account, creating product listings, and configuring shipping options.

Product Listings: List your products on the Walmart Marketplace by providing detailed product information, images, prices, and shipping details.

Compliance and Training: Walmart may require you to complete training and compliance modules to ensure that you understand their policies and procedures.

Launch Your Store: Once your product listings are ready and you’ve completed all necessary steps, you can launch your seller account and start selling on the Walmart Marketplace.

Manage Your Listings and Orders: Use the Walmart Seller Center to manage your product listings, monitor sales, handle orders, and provide excellent customer service.

Fulfillment and Shipping: Decide on your fulfillment method. You can choose to fulfill orders yourself or use Walmart’s fulfillment services.

Comply with Policies: Familiarize yourself with Walmart’s selling policies and guidelines to ensure that you’re following their requirements and providing a positive customer experience.

Please note that the process and requirements for becoming a seller on Walmart’s marketplace may have changed since my last knowledge update in September 2021. It’s important to visit the official Walmart Marketplace website or contact their support for the most up-to-date information and guidance on creating a seller account.
